Alarms carry a manufacturer expiry date, typically around ten years from manufacture, after which the sensor can no longer be relied on. We check the stamped date on each unit and replace anything at or past its life.
Do smoke alarms need to be hardwired?▼
Requirements depend on when the home was built or significantly altered. Where hardwired alarms are required, or where you simply want the most reliable option, we install mains powered units with battery backup.
Why does my alarm chirp after I replaced the battery?▼
Persistent chirping after a fresh battery usually means the unit has reached end of life or the sensor has failed. Replacement is the fix, not another battery.
