What the job includes
Switchboard Upgrades done to standard, not to the clock
Full board replacement
Old fuse boards and early plastic enclosures are removed and replaced with a correctly sized modern enclosure, laid out so every circuit is labelled and readable years from now.
RCD safety switches on every circuit
Power and lighting circuits are protected by RCDs, so a fault trips the circuit before it reaches a person. We test each device once it is live and show you the result.
Circuit-by-circuit load review
Air conditioning, induction cooktops, pool equipment and EV charging all pull far more than the appliances these boards were designed around. We review the real load before we specify the board.
Mains, earthing and bonding check
A new board on undersized mains or a failed earth is a half job. We check the main supply, earthing and bonding, and tell you plainly if anything upstream needs attention.
Level 2 work handled in-house
If the upgrade needs a service fuse pulled, a metering change or work back to the network connection, our Level 2 ASP team does it. No second contractor, no waiting on someone else's schedule.

On-site assessment
We inspect the existing board, mains, earthing and circuit layout, and talk through what you run in the house now and what you are planning.

Upfront written quote
You get the scope and the price before anything starts, including whether Level 2 work is involved. Options are explained where there is more than one sensible path.

Installation day
Power is off for the working portion of the day. We install, terminate and label the new board, then bring circuits back one at a time.

Testing, labelling and handover
Every RCD is tested, every circuit is labelled, the site is cleaned, and we walk you through the board before we leave. The labour is covered by our Lifetime Labour Guarantee.

How do I know if my switchboard actually needs upgrading?▼
The clearest indicators are ceramic rewireable fuses, an absence of RCD safety switches, repeated nuisance tripping, or any heat, smell or discolouration around the board. If your home was wired before safety switches became standard and the board has never been touched, it is worth having it assessed even if nothing has failed yet.
Will my power be off during a switchboard upgrade?▼
Yes. The supply has to be isolated while the old board is removed and the new one is installed and terminated. We tell you the expected outage window when we quote so you can plan around fridges, home offices and medical equipment.
Do I need safety switches on every circuit?▼
Current wiring rules require RCD protection on power and lighting circuits in homes. When we upgrade a board we bring the protection up to the standard that applies to the work, and we test each device before we hand over.
Can you upgrade the switchboard if I am installing an EV charger?▼
Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons we are called. An EV charger is a large continuous load, so we look at the board, the mains and the supply together rather than adding a circuit to a board that cannot carry it.
Do you handle the network side as well?▼
