Do I actually need three phase power at home?▼
Often not. Many homes are better served by upgraded single phase mains and a properly sized board. Three phase becomes the right answer when total demand genuinely exceeds what single phase can carry, such as ducted air conditioning combined with pool plant, a workshop or multiple EV chargers.
How long does a three phase upgrade take?▼
The on-site work is typically a planned day or more depending on the mains run, but the overall timeline also depends on network approvals and metering. We set out the expected sequence when we quote rather than promising a date we do not control.
Does three phase mean cheaper electricity?▼
No. It changes the capacity available to your home, not the rate you pay. The benefit is being able to run large loads properly and safely.
Can you do the switchboard at the same time?▼
Yes, and it is normally part of the same job. A three phase supply needs a three phase board with the circuits balanced across phases.
