Disconnect & Reconnect FAQ

Questions we get asked most

Why can't my regular electrician disconnect the supply?

Disconnecting and reconnecting the service is network-side work that requires Level 2 accreditation. A licensed electrician can work inside the installation, but not on the service connection itself.

How long will the power be off?

It depends entirely on the works being done around it. For tree work or roofing it is usually a matter of hours on the day; for demolition and renovation it can be longer by design. We schedule around your trades to keep it as short as practical.

Can I get temporary power during the works?

Yes, temporary builder's supply can be arranged where you need power on site after the permanent supply is disconnected.

Do you handle the network notifications?

Yes. As your Level 2 accredited provider we lodge the notifications and complete the documentation at both the disconnect and the reconnect.
